  • flour
  • cornstarch
  • water
  • baking powder
  • baking soda
  • vegetable oil
  • chicken broth
  • white vinegar
  • sugar
  • dark soy sauce
  • chili paste
  • garlic clove
  • peanut oil
  • toasted sesame seeds

📝 Instructions

  1. 1 cut the chicken into 1-inch cubes
  2. 2 mix the marinade ingredients and marinate the chicken for 20 minutes
  3. 3 to prepare the sauce:
  4. 4 mix together all of the sauce ingredients
  5. 5 pour them into a small pot and bring to a boil , stirring continuously
  6. 6 turn the heat down to low and keep warm while you are deep-frying the chicken
  7. 7 to deep-fry the chicken:
  8. 8 add the marinated chicken pieces a few at a time , and deep-fry until golden brown
  9. 9 drain on paper towels and then place chicken in warm oven while you continue frying
  10. 10 repeat with the remainder of the chicken
  11. 11 just before you are finished deep-frying , bring the sauce back up to a boil
